I am a registered and accredited member of BACP ( British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

And I work to their Code of Ethics and Practise. A copy of which can be made available or found at www.bacp.co.uk.  I am also subject to BACP complaints procedure.

Choosing a Counsellor:

Making a decision about Counselling, choosing a Counsellor and then making contact can be daunting.

I am happy to have a no obligation discussion with you around these questions.

More about me:

I have been a Person Centred Counsellor since 1993 after qualifying from the University of Strathclyde. Since that time I have worked in a variety of

contexts including University, Voluntary Organisations, NHS and  independently. Lecturing, Training, Supervision and Clinical Leadership also feature in my professional life.

The common factor in all those aspects of my work is a deep and deepening respect for our humanity and the possibilities that can arise from that humanity.

How can I help?

I work from central Lancaster and also offer telephone sessions.  The role of the counsellor is to assist and enable the  client to explore many aspects of their life, feelings and experience.  This can be in either short or longer term work.  I work with individual adults, Employment Assistance Programmes and Organisations. The issues that I cover are wide and I have worked extensively with the trauma and impact of childhood and adult sexual abuse.

 â€‹

What happens?

Sessions usually last for an hour and can include opportunities for creativity and mindfulness.

Also, I am a qualified Counselling Supervisor and offer bespoke training for organisations particularly around issues concerned with Abuse.
